SSC GD Constable 2026 Notification: Full Details (As per Official Notice Dated 01.12.2025)

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the SSC GD Constable Notification for 2026 on 01 December 2025 on its website (ssc.gov.in). The recruitment will be conducted for Constable (GD) posts in CAPFs, SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles.
This is one of India’s largest defence recruitment exams conducted every year.

🎓 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Candidate must have Matriculation / 10th Class pass from a recognized board.

Age Limit

  • 18 to 23 years
  • Age relaxation:
    • OBC: +3 years
    • SC/ST: +5 years
    • Ex-servicemen: As per rules

📏 Physical Standard Test (PST)

Height

  • Male: 170 cm
  • Female: 157 cm
  • Relaxation for ST, Gorkhas, Garhwalis, NE states, etc.

Chest (Male Only)

  • Unexpanded: 80 cm
  • Expanded: 85 cm

🏃 Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Male

  • 5 km run in 24 minutes
  • 1.6 km run in 6 min 30 sec (Ladakh)

Female

  • 1.6 km run in 8 min 30 sec
  • 800 m run in 4 min (Ladakh)

🧪 Medical Standards

  • Vision:
    • Better Eye: 6/6
    • Worse Eye: 6/9
  • No major physical deformity.

📝 SSC GD 2026: Exam Pattern

The Computer Based Examination (CBE) will be conducted in English, Hindi, and 13 regional languages mentioned in the notification.

Analogy, series, puzzles, coding-decoding, directions, non-verbal reasoning.

2️⃣ General Knowledge

Current affairs, history, geography, polity, science, defence, sports.

3️⃣ Mathematics

Number system, ratio, percentage, mensuration, SI/CI, profit-loss, time-distance.

4️⃣ English / Hindi

Grammar, comprehension, vocabulary, synonyms/antonyms.
